We still instinctually see animals as either prey or predator. Our brain is wired to keep a keen eye on their movements. Most people in western cultures would be safer noticing a moving vehicle then some animal they will never come in contact with, but our brains still think in those terms. I also found it interesting that people noticed movement in objects that are suppose to move (expected) at a higher rate then objects that are usually static (unexpected), but did not notice movement of vehicles (expected) at a higher rate than some African animal (unexpected)...
