However, Faulkner does do a great job of producing the intended effect on the reader by the "twist" at the end of the story. He is successful at not giving away obvious clues which would lead the reader to know that Miss Emily killed her boyfriend. I think that if the story was told from an omniscient narrator it could have either lead the reader to a suspicion of foul play earlier than desired, or would have told of the scandalous behavior going on...
